Plup Oy Ab Ltd is an independent Finnish company which donates a vast amount of its profit for environmental issues. This is not a campaign strategy. In fact it’s the absolute essence of our business core. The tool for this activity and mission is a worldwide protected and totally new drinking bottle design. Different ready-to-drink-products are sold in the PLUP bottle through grocery stores on a mass-market level as well as through other channels. In Finland PLUP Ltd donates 10 euro cents from each PLUP bottle sold, directly to the Baltic Sea Action Group. These donated funds are used in full for cleaning up the Baltic Sea. PLUP will be funding cleaning operations outside the Finnish borders as well. Wherever PLUP sells drinks in the unique bottle, a major share of the profit is donated for environmental issues. From country to country we will seek local environmental concerns and areas that are in need of help. The first product is spring water from the Anttila well in Lestijärvi, Finland. The PLUP bottle holds 400 ml, or 14 fl.oz. A pint, basically. The PLUP bottle is made from HDPE, a highly recyclable plastic. HDPE is one the worlds most common food- and drink packaging plastics, one important quality being durability. The PLUP bottle passes through the bottle recycling machines. Since Palpa (the Finnish return package company) only accepts bottles made of PET-plastics, PLUP is not part of the Finnish bottle deposit system. On the other hand, more and more HDPE- recycling return stations are being placed in all city areas. PLUP encourages consumers not to return the bottle, but rather to re-fill and re-use it. It’s highly durable and suitable for heavy use, such as hiking or boating. The range of drinks will grow in Fall 2008. Soon the bottle will come in different colors and transparencies depending on the content. The filling line at the Anttila well is being installed, and PLUP spring water will be in stores in Finland beginning August 4th. Plup Oy Ab Ltd on itsenäinen suomalainen yritys, joka lahjoittaa varteenotettavan määrän voitostaan ympäristönsuojeluun. Lahjoitustoiminta ei ole kampanjamaista, vaan jatkuvaa. Toiminnan työkalu on mallisuojattu Plup-pullo, jossa myydään eri juomia vähittäiskaupassa ja muita kanavia pitkin. Suomessa PLUP Oy lahjoittaa 10 senttiä jokaisesta myydystä PLUP-pullosta lyhentämättömänä Baltic Sea Action Groupille, joka suuntaa varat suoraan Itämeren puhdistamiseen. Luontoa tullaan auttamaan myös ulkomailla. Kohteet valikoituvat kunkin maan ympäristön tilan ja paikallisten intressien mukaan. Plup -lähdevesi on juomista ensimmäinen ja se nousee Anttilan lähteestä, Lestijärveltä. Plupin tilavuus on 0,4 litraa eli tuopin verran. Plup-pullo on valmistettu kierrätettävästä HDPE-muovista. HDPE on maailman eniten käytettyjä elintarvike- ja talouspakkausmuoveja, jonka erityisominaisuuksia ovat puhtaus ja kestävyys. Plup läpäisee pullonpalautuskoneet. Koska Palpa (Suomen Palautuspakkaus Oy) hyväksyy vain PET-muovista tehdyt pullot, Plup ei sisällä panttia. HDPE-kierrätysastioita löytää yhä useammista paikoista. Plup-pulloa ei kannata heittää pois, vaan sen voi käyttää ja täyttää uudelleen ja uudelleen, koska se kestää. Juomavalikoima laajenee syksyllä 2008, ja PLUP-tullaan näkemään myös erivärisenä ja kirkkaana. Tuotantolinja on rakenteilla ja PLUPin lähdevettä saa kaupoista 4.8.2008 alkaen.
